This Is Catharsis.
3D Illustrations combining handmade textures with 3D sculpting tools. Project made during the 2020 Covid-19 lockdown. Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
I've always been drawn to anatomical illustrations. The details in the shading, the rawness of it. Specially the heart. I like it's symmetrical asymmetry, the complexity.
I find fascinating how love is represented by a heart in the most cute shape and form ♥️ when in reality I find it to be one of the most visceral organs of all. The shape, the consistent beating, the veins, the fat around it. Not smooth and shining like the liver or bubbly like the lungs. No.
The heart is a restless maestro orchestrating in a constant beat to rest alive.
Perhaps because the heart is the most vital of all organs. Perhaps because there's no meaning in life without LOVE.

CHANEL N°5 Red Limited Edition
The Scent
With an unprecedented use of aldehydes, which add layers of complexity, N°5 was the world’s first abstract fragrance. A floral bouquet composed around May Rose and Jasmine features bright citrus top notes. Aldehydes create a unique presence while the smooth touch of Bourbon Vanilla leaves an incredibly sensual trail. Mademoiselle sought "a woman's perfume with a woman's scent."
By the time is was created by perfumer Ernest Beaux, female fragrances fell into two categories. Single flower fragrances were used by "respectable women", sexually provocative perfumes with intense notes as of musk were associated with prostitutes or courtesans. For the first time, with the release of N°5 in 1921, Coco Chanel defies the convention of perfumes. A new scent that celebrates the liberated spirit of the 1920s and would appeal to the flapper, the modern woman of this era.
The Design
Pure. Austere. As bare as a vial. The minimalist lines of N°5 design are an antidote to the bottles of its time that distinguishes it from the mannered bottles of the 20's. As Mademoiselle said, "the perfection of the product forbids dressing it in the customary artifices. Why rely on the art of the glassmaker..." Mademoiselle presents a simple bottle adorned only by precious teardrops of perfume of incomparable quality, complex, unique in composition, revealing the artistic personality of their creator.
Throughout the years, the original bottle adapts imperceptibly to its time. It becomes an icon to the XX century, resists the whims of fashion and the passage of time, and is till today the most best selling and successful perfume of all time.
COCO NOIR
The History
After Coco (1984) and Coco Mademoiselle (2001), both inspired in Coco Chanel herself, the perfumer Jaques Polge wanted to continue exploring an entire aesthetic range, envisioning the night of the "Orient that starts and ends in Venice" inspired by Mademoiselle's apartment. Together with Christopher Sheldrake, they create an intimate, seductive and contemporary expression of a nocturnal Baroque. A magnetic sensuality told in a modern, luminous Oriental fragrance for women.
The Scent
"As a prelude, a vibrant, sophisticated burst dominated by Grapefruit sparks the curiosity. A generous heart gradually reveals the sensuality of May Rose and the remarkable note of Geranium Rose Leaf. This luminous floral facet creates a striking presence, while Venezuelan Tonka Bean and Indonesian Patchouli notes add warmth."
The Design
Pure. Austere. Dark as the night. Coco Noir follows the minimalist lines of Coco, Coco Mademoiselle, N°19 and N°19 Poudré designs, created originality in 1921 for N°5. This time in a opaque black glass bottle contrasting with gold Baroque elements.

Working from home can be tricky, specially when it’s a change from night to day. In terms to keep being productive and sane there are a few steps we need to take into account.
This is why I decided to share some tips I’ve learned with my previous working from home experience.
This project was developed during Amsterdam’s lockdown in 2020 and shared on social media platforms as a contribution to help others adapting to the new abnormal.

The Female Sex Alphabet is a personal project developed for 36 days of type. The intention is to bring to a reflection concepts and facts related with female sexuality.
A for Allure
Allure// the quality of being powerfully and mysteriously attractive or fascinating.
B for Basal Body Temperature
BBT// is the lowest body temperature attained during rest. In practice it is measured immediately after awaking before any physical activity. In women, BBT can be used to predict ovulation being this method used since 1930s.
C for Clitoris
“In 1969, we put a man on the moon. In 1982, we invented the internet. In 1998, we discovered the full anatomy of the clitoris”. Helen O/Connell is the scientist behind the study asserting that the clitoris extends behind the vaginal wall. Don’t ask Google. In https://projects.huffingtonpost.com/cliteracy
D for Dame
“Dame Products was founded by smart women with the purpose of making phenomenal sex toys”. Their mission is to “heighten intimacy, design well-engineered sex toys, and openly empower the sexual experiences of womankind”.
E for Erotic Blueprint
We’re all wired differently when it comes to sexuality and libido. Although love and intimacy may grow stronger in long term relationships, one of the most common struggles amongst couples is the gradual fading of sexual arousal.
What if we could define 5 kinds of eroticism that helps us better understand our partner and have a more pleasurable and intimate sexual life?
There are 5 kinds of Erotic blueprints: Energetic, Sensual, Sexual, Kinky, Shapeshifter.
More on www.onnalifestyle.com/blogs/news/what-is-your-erotic-language
F for Foreplay
Foreplay// any kind of activity that leads up to but doesn’t include full intercourse.
G for G spot
Recent studies have been questioning the existence or not of a G spot. Although there’s still not a conclusive study about female orgasms, the theory that comes as more inclusive is that, when aroused, some women can detect a G spot that is connected to the clitoris, leading this stimulation to the female orgasm. Meaning, that in reality it all comes to clitoris stimulation.
Conclusion// Self pleasure, self discovery and communication among partners are key when it comes to nurturing and intimate relationships.
H for Hormones
From PMS to PMDD, hormones are here to be taken serious. PMS or, in severe cases PMDD, may affect an average of 10 days each menstrual cycle. That makes an estimate of 4 months each year that with PMDD can go from:
- Anxiety and irritability,
- Depression or feeling of hopelessness,
- Decreased interest in usual activities,
- Fatigue,
- Difficulty concentrating,
- Sleep problems,
- Cramps and bloating,
- Headaches,
- Joint or muscle pain,
- Hot flashes
- ...
PMS// Premenstrual Syndrome
PMDD// Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder
I for Intimacy
Intimacy// the process of unmasking, feeling naked, in order to be vulnerable in a trusting, loving, secure relationship.
J for Jade egg
Jade egg or yoni egg are names used to describe a semiprecious stone carved into egg shapes and polished to a glossy shine. This practice invites women to connect deeply with their own sacred space, through intention and attention. Taking time for ourselves and creating a sacred awareness of our inner world is deeply nourishing and pleasurable.
Spirituality apart, holding or “wearing” the stone in our yoni gently strengths and tightens a woman’s pelvic floor and vagina, giving internal balance, stimulating pressure points and enhancing the muscles sensitivity. In other words, it decreases incontinence, retones post-childbirth and increases orgasms.
K for Kegel exercises
Kegel exercises, also known as pelvic floor muscles exercises, have the same benefits as inserting a jade egg. Some might say you don’t need a jade egg, others say the weight of a jade egg has more benefits. Take it or live it, don’t forget to do your Kegel’s daily for muscle toning and increased sensation on your yoni.
The name Kegel comes from Arnold Kegel, the gynecologist that invented the perineometer, an instrument that measures the strength of voluntary contractions of the pelvic floor muscles.
L for Love
Love// the universal language that makes us human.
M for Masters
William Masters and Virginia Johnson developed in the late 1950s the first studies to understand human sexual response, dysfunction and disorders.
They are responsible for the four stage model of sexual response (also known as the human sexual response cycle).
N for Nipples
Close ups.
O for Onna (Orgasms)
Events and people cross our path in many different ways, we only need to keep an eye open. Sometimes I think the meaning of making this alphabet was to find Onna.
At first sight, Onna may look only like a gemstone sex toy shop but it’s much more than that. If you follow them on IG or subscribe to their newsletter, Pleasure Mondays, you’ll find that Onna is about reconnecting with your inner female sensuality, sexuality, finding and celebrating pleasure in simple daily habits.
It’s about nurturing relationships starting from the most import of all: the one we have with ourselves. As they state on their website, “we are on a mission to nourish women, one Orgasm at a time - connecting heart, body and mind”.
P for Pleasure
Pleasure. Nourishment. Nurturing.
Q for Qui dormit, non peccat
(One who sleeps does not sin). Well. Technically. But in dreams... anything is possible.
R for Respect
In all sources, for all individuals. In all relationships, for all conventional and unconventional ways of living. Respect.
S for Self-care / Self-love / Self-pleasure
Self-care// refers to actions and attitudes which contribute to the maintenance of well-being and personal health and promote human development. Self-care (and self-knowledge) reduces the negative effects of stress: A small amount of stress can serve a purpose, but after a while, it just breaks down your mind and body. Taking care of yourself means keeping your stress from taking over so you can function at full capacity. Our bodies are complex machines, beautifully made but, they can collapse when not handled with care. Here are a few self-care ideas:
- Simplify your schedule. Ask yourself what activities and relationships truly add a value to your life. Prioritise quality time over quantity.
- Don’t be hard on yourself. Make mistakes. Each one is on an individual journey, learn with each mistake and enjoy the ride.
- Take life with lightness, have sense of humor and learn how to laugh at yourself.- Write your thoughts in a journal and create things with your hands. You don’t need to be a craftsman but this will help you to disconnect.
- Learn to let go. Self care is also not arguing with people who are committed to misunderstanding you.
- Be nice but don’t try to please everyone, that’s unattainable and can only lead to frustration.
- Pleasure yourself. Nourish your body and soul. Have a list of small things that make you happy and treat yourself. A nice meal, a bath, a fresh lemonade on a warm day, a glass of wine, buy flowers, be a tourist in your own city, play music and make silly moves, sing in the shower, this list is endless.
- Create a gratitude list. Appreciate what you have and see the positive side on the small things even the less good ones. This will help you feel grounded.
- Be true to yourself, and if you cannot put your heart in it, take yourself out of it.
Conclusion// do anything that makes you live in the present and enjoying the moment. Don’t rush, seize it.
T for Teaser
As in Cambridge Dictionary: Teaser// a problem for which it is hard to find the answer, specially one which people enjoy trying to solve as a game.
Synonym// Brainteaser
They have a point.
U for Uterus
Uterus// the womb, the nest of all lives.
V for Vulva
W for Wet kiss
X for Xanax
Y for Yoni
Yoni// the Mother of all Life. From Sanskrit, word that has been interpreted to literally mean the womb, and the female organs, “vagina", "vulva", and "uterus", or alternatively to "origin, abode, or source" of anything in other contexts.
Yoni Empire// @the_yoni_empire is a blog, a movement, a place that educates about self-pleasure and self-love I can’t live without now.
Yoni care// @yoni.care is a brand (first?) that produces tampons, pads and panty liners made from 100% organic cotton. Do you know what your tampons, pads and panty liners are made of? Given your vagina is one of the most absorbent parts of your body, it’s a good question to ask.
Z for Zig-Zig
WWII coinage for sexual intercourse.
3D landscape exploration for a Virtual Reality pitch about how environments shape us and mindfulness.
Plant vs Animal reflects on basic biologic components between plant cells and animal cells. Placing them on a battle field where both, win with their differences, and are brought together in their similarities.
The CELL, from Latin cella, meaning "small room", is the smallest unit of life. The basic structural, functional, and biological unit of all known living organisms. "The building blocks of life".
Plant Cells and Animal Cells belong to the domain Eukarya (from Greek, Eu, "well" or "true", karyon, "nut" or "kernel". Eukarya domain is distinct from Prokarya domain (from Greek Pro "before" kernel) for having “compartments”, membrane-bound organelles where specific activities take place, and most important, they have a cell nucleus, where the DNA is stored.
Plant Cells and Animal Cells both have membrane, nucleus and other organelles. Yet, Plant Cells can be distinguished by Animal Cells for having cell walls (giving it a block shape), chloroplasts (where photosynthesis takes place) and a big vacuole. Animal Cells have a blob-shape (due to absence of a cell wall), a bigger nucleus, smaller vacuoles or none, and centrioles.
So different from one another, yet so close to each other.
